I'm currently in between texts.

I have couple texts under process - not an unusual situation to myself, tbh - which I've started earlier at 2023, and at winter-time I hit to some sort of block, and now I feel like the carcass-poking-meme-guy with those projects (poke-poke-poke "C'mon, make me feel creative and smart"). So I'd like to pick something new since re-start those previous feels laborious. However, I somehow feel that there's something in those texts, so I'll give a quick introduction to them.


An urban horror story, very clivebarkerisque, in which the residential zone build for factory labourers is ... well, essentially bad. It's based on real neighbourhood that architectual outlook is generally respected (Scandinavian functionalism), but I found it cold, distant, clinical, almost inhuman. So. Someting evil. I try to connect this with creepypasta mythos, especially The Backrooms and Black-eyed children.


A transgressive novel about petite carrier criminal that runs into non-conventional relationship. A bit queer-themed, especially aro/enby -sector, with drugs, violence and general lawlessness. A style that I admire and like to read, but never wrote, so it takes a bit effort.



Back to more familiar umbrella genre, speculative fiction: a hopepunk/hydrogenpunk/oceanpunk story from near future: a raft-based city at Pacific, and YA main character getting possibility to change her carrier at food delivery courier to more academic context. Some anti-corporation elements and different sub-cultures to bring the 'punk' to the oceanpunk. Love the mileu and MC, not sure what to do with them.



Those are under process, as described at the beginning. I'd like to hone my skills with some literary essay; there's been a long time since I've done anything like that, so it takes a while to grind the rust off my intellectual tools.

Oh, I'm sorry, your answer would have been fine just as it was, I didn't mean to restrict the discussion too much - I was just trying to point some direction where it possibly could go.

However, I really feel that procrastinating part. I'm atm kinda switching between stories as I don't feel like finishing my attempt of a novel.

I'm kinda working on a magic school story. I've written the story and now I should do some re-arranging with the plot and rewrite but... meh. I really do not feel like it. There are so many other ideas bouncing around in my head and screaming "write me instead! me! me! me!". I'm kinda thinking about a dystopia and another magic school and and and...

Well, at the moment I am writing something my readers (English ones) call women's fiction, or that's what the right category is in their eyes. I know nothing about that genre thing, so I let them decide and I just write.
I've written some relationship stories. One story is about a couple. The wife may or may not have an extramarital affair with her co - worker.
Then another story is about a teacher who finds out she is pregnant, but she won't tell her husband about the baby, and then the husband dies. The widowed woman rushes to the new marriage with a man who is much older than she herself, just to make sure the baby has a father figure.
Both of these are WIPs, I admit it. But maybe I'll find the courage to keep going with them.

At the moment I'm writing Routa, a YA-fantasy novel that more or less has its origins in year 2015 but has since then gone through a few alterations. The main points remain the same but it has still changed massively. I'm writing it pretty on-off, currently its on a small hiatus (due to school work) but the second draft is almost finished and then I'll start yet another rewrite. The main theme in this is growing up, figuring out one's identity and maybe climate change if I manage to wrestle the story into the form I envisioned it in. It's very much a work in progress, so we'll see.

Other than that, I'm also trying to work on a few fanfiction stories. Tuhkasta nouseva valo (or Risen from the Ashes (or something along those lines)) is a current fanfiction project that I'm at least trying to work on. It's a creature!Harry Potter story, where Harry ends up dying in the first chapter and is reborn as a phoenix. And that rebirth is more profound than it might sound like, there're new instincts and stuff. A lot of stuff I really enjoy in fanfiction.

I also have another fanfic, Vivea Mortis which is currently undergoing rewriting and will probably end up going through some pretty big changes from the original. Mainly Tom Riddle/Harry Potter, forced marriage and a lot of my favourite tropes mixed in. I'm still in the process of hashing it out, so it's slow going. But I have a lot of WIPs currently, and my fiction writing has taken a hit from school work. But these are the projects I'll work with if and when I end up writing something other than work stuff. Or my tarot collection, where I write one-offs based on tarot cards. Currently working on a story based on the Page of Cups. It's been causing me trouble for months, so it's still one of my current stories on my writing list. Can't wait to get it done and published so I can start something new.
